Kathleen Lipp

Kathy Lipp 1942-2022. Kathleen (Kathy) Carver Lipp passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on September 7, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born in Preston, Idaho and grew up in Mink Creek, Idaho on a farm where she loved to play with baby animals, learned to ride a cow and was a cheerleader at her high school. Kathy married her husband Larry Claude Lipp in 1960 in Moscow, Idaho. Kathy and Larry began their lives together in the state of Washington and later relocated to Torrance, California in 1971 where they raised their three sons, Michael, J. Douglas and Thomas Lipp. Kathy is preceded in death by her husband Larry and son Thomas. Kathy was a beloved grandmother to Shannon, Zachary and Matthew Lipp.

While living in Torrance Kathy worked as office administrator for AYSO as well as local doctor and dentist offices. Kathy often worked on various home improvement projects and was ahead of her time repurposing and upscaling old furniture.

Kathy was very accomplished working with plants – working in the yard, creating ornate flower arrangements and being involved with South Coast Botanic Garden Club. She enjoyed family road trips through scenic southwest parks and was a neighborhood activist watching over the local elementary school and preserving hillside views. She was very friendly and known to strike up conversations with people she came into contact with. She was very caring and helpful in taking care of older friends.
