Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, Katherine (Kay) Mann was born in Los Angeles on March 27, 1924. She died peacefully on October 19, 2009 with her loved ones at her side. She was preceded in death by her husband Victor who passed away in February 1977. Kay was a 55 year resident of the South Bay (Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach) and loved to see the sunsets from her living room window. She was a 29 year Los Angeles City School District employee, retiring in 1983 as the Office Manager at 92nd Street School. Following her retirement she spent many happy years at her mobile home in Lake Elsinore or traveling throughout the United States, Mexico, and Canada with Hawaii being her favorite place to visit. Snorkeling and swimming in the warm waters of Hawaii was one of her greatest pleasures. But her family was the brightest spot in her life. She is survived by her son Robert (Patti) Mann of Carbondale, CO, daughter Janet (William) Hedderich of Hawthorne, grandsons Jon Angelet of Manhattan Beach, Robert W. Mann of Denver, and Cory Davis of Long Beach, granddaughters Michelle Angelet-Davis of Long Beach and Laura Mann of Denver, great grandsons Blaize Angelet (USAF Academy) and Jaycob Mann of Denver, great granddaughters Summer and Tallulah Angelet of Hermosa Beach, Kayley and Stephanie Davis of Long Beach, and Ashley Mann of Denver and many nephews and nieces. The world has truly lost a wonderful lady. Visitation will be Sunday, October 25, 2009 1:00-5:00pm at White and Day Chapel. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 26, 2009, 11:00am at White and Day Chapel, 3215 Sepulveda Blvd, Manhattan Beach. Graveside services will follow at Inglewood Park Cemetery.
