Julia Siler, a long time resident of Torrance, CA died June 25, 2009 at age 86. Julia was born July 26, 1922, in Hiteman, Iowa. When she was in her twenties, she worked at a defense plant during WWII. She later moved to California and joined her two sisters that had moved there previously. In 1952 she met and married Henry Friede. Henry died the following year, days before their first anniversary. Together they had a daughter, Barbara, who Julia raised by herself for 19yrs. Julia met Ramon (Brick) Siler in 1973. They were married in June, at which time Torrance became her home. They joined a bowling league at the Missile Bowl, where she made many friends. Brick died in 1999. Julia was the last surviving sibling of a family of twelve. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara, son-in-law, Danny, step daughter Rue Delle Wolfe, two granddaughters, Toni and Ayna, two grandsons, Joshua and John, two great- grandchildren, Hannah, and Ethan, and many nieces and nephews. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Services will be held at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Contact church for time.
