Joycelyn
JOYCELYN JEANNE PENA Pena, Joycelyn Jeanne, a 40 year resident of the South Bay and resident of Redondo Beach, entered into the Lord's presence on Monday, September 22, 2008 in Torrance. Born in Waterloo Iowa, Joycelyn was 59 when she died. Joyce wanted to be remembered for "all the love" she had for her husband Hector, children Brent and Shannon, granddaughter Kylie and the many dogs, cats and other pets she poured her affection on through out her life time. She enjoyed laughing, loving, a warm breeze, the sun, flowers, and being outdoors. Joyce was extremely giving and cared more about others than herself. She literally would shower her family with piles of gifts for birthdays, special occasions and most of all Christmas, her favorite holiday. Joyce wanted her family to know that she didn't fear death because she knew that it was not the end, but a new beginning. A couple of weeks before her passing she told her son, "You don't have to worry about me if anything happens. I know I'm going to Heaven, although I know I don't deserve it." This is the essence of the Christian faith she professed and showed her understanding of the need for the Lord Jesus Christ in whom she had placed her trust to obtain mercy and forgiveness from God. May He have mercy on us all. We all love you and miss you dearly mom, but look forward with sincere hope to that day when we meet again and you're there to greet us at Heaven's gate. What a wonderful celebration that will be. Joyce is survived by her husband Hector Pena of Redondo Beach, Ca, her companion of 25 years; son, Brent (Cecilia) Feist of La Mirada, Ca; daughter, Shannon Sandoval of Redondo Beach, Ca; sisters Linda Allen, Coleen Vizzini, Marilyn Holmes of Wa; and granddaughters Kylie Feist and Madison Crabbe. Joycelyn was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Barbara Allen. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the A.S.P.C.A.
