Kohly, Jose Juan a 40 year resident of Los Angeles passed away Monday, March 14, 2005 in Inglewood. He was born in Cuba on November 24, 1906. In Cuba, he was an insurance agent, underwriter, and the proud owner of Restaurant Maximo. He eventually settled in California where he retired from Security Pacific Bank in 1972. His passions were cooking and repairing anything that needed fixing, including watches, cars, and appliances.
He is survived by his wife, Eva, sons, Peter (Darla) Kohly of Los Angeles, CA; and Luis (Tamiray) De Briel of Riverside, CA, daughters, Eva (Rick) Bialick of San Diego, CA, and Margarita (Mario) Kohly of Los Angeles, CA, and his four grandchildren, grandsons, Peter Michael Kohly, Patrick Kohly, Ricky Bialick, and granddaughter, Nicole Bialick .
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 17, from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at McCormick's Inglewood Mortuary, 635 S. Prairie Avenue in Inglewood. Rosary Services will begin at 6:30 PM in the Mortuary Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 18 at 10:00 A.M. at Visitation Catholic Church, 6561 W. 88th Street in Los Angeles. Entombment will follow with procession to Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, CA.
