Hogan, John R., a longtime resident of Manhattan Beach, died Wednesday, February 21, in his home after a prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife Peggy, his four children and five grandchildren. Hogan and his family moved to Manhattan Beach in 1971 after retiring from a distinguished career in the military that included the Air Force Commendation and the Distinguished Flying Cross. A veteran of World War II, he was a bombardier in the 330 Bomber Squadron. He was also a veteran of the Korean Conflict. A longtime volunteer, Hogan was active in numerous church and charitable activities. Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2001 at 10:30 am at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Manhattan Beach.
