John Harvey Fessler, a 50-year resident of Hawthorne California, passed away on Wednesday April 14, 2021 in Hawthorne, California. Born in Los Angeles, John was 71 when he died. He was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps after serving as a Vehicle Driver. He was an expert Volkswagen mechanic and later in life was a groundskeeper for the local school district.

John enjoyed taking his wife to the car races and scuba diving off the coast of Southern California. He developed an interest in prospecting for gold and was a member of the Prospectors Club of California and a lifetime member of the Gold Prospectors Association of America.

John was a nurturing person, enjoying making things grow and caring for a variety of pets – reptiles, tortoises, dogs and cats.

John is survived by his sister-in-law Bonnie Vanderbaan and brother-in law Warren Russell. He very much loved his late wife, their St. Bernard Tasha and Volkswagens.
