JOHN ALOYSIUS BUEHNER,
A 43 year resident of Torrance, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2003, in a tragic fire at his home. He was born in Los Angeles, CA, October 20, 1960. John was 43 and a Rehabilitation Manager for the Salvation Army. John is survived by his precious children, Matthew Paul Buehner (17) of Arroyo Grande, and Mary Michelle Buehner (11) of Torrance, and his siblings, Victoria Lee Buehner, Rebecca S. (Mrs. David) Clark, both of Hawthorne, CA., Kimberly M. Buehner of Torrance, Tony Buehner of Hawaii, Therese M. (Mrs. Richard) Buehner-Metzger of Torrance, and Mr. and Mrs. James M. Buehner of Tenn. Also left to mourn his passing are 12 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, November 3, 2003, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Rice Mortuary, 5310 Torrance Blvd., Torrance, CA 90503. Rosary recitation will then begin at 7:00 PM in the Mortuary Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 4, 2003, at 2:00 PM at St. James Catholic Church, 415 Vincent St. (at PCH), Redondo Beach, CA 90277. Friends are invited to a gathering afterward (location to be announced after Mass) to celebrate our beloved John Aloysius' life. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery will be private.

John was my godson. I saw John last at his own father\’s funeral in September. Our last words to one another were that we loved one other. I am grateful that I have those beautiful sentiments to sustain me. John will always be remembered and loved by me. He was very special to me. I will miss him but I also know by faith that he is in heaven with his mother and father.
