Badenoch, John Arthur
A Life long resident of the South Bay, passed away peacefully on Friday, May
19 2006. He was born in Los Angeles on March 23, 1937, the eldest son of Arthur H.
Badenoch Jr. and Vera (Near) Badenoch. John grew up in Inglewood with his
three brothers Frederick, Stephen, and George. He met
the love of his life Marie on a blind date and she has been a caring and
devoted wife for nearly 49 years. John spent all of his working years
connected to the lumber and wholesale hardwood industry. He knew his trade
well, but he most enjoyed the friendships and camaraderie of his co-workers
and business associates. They fondly recall John's polite, personable
manner. A skilled craftsman and finish carpenter, the signature of his work
is prominently displayed throughout his own home and the homes of others
that he helped with small projects or repairs.
John quietly taught many positive life lessons to his children along with a
variety of practical skills and shared a clever sense of humor. This will
be handed down to the next generation and credited to him lovingly. A
Faithful man, John is survived by his wife Marie; daughter Linda and her
husband Eric Abbiss; son David Arthur and his wife Christine; granddaughters
Elizabeth Schemel and Shannon Badenoch; grandson Casey Arthur Badenoch, his
brothers and many nieces; nephews; and cousins. John will be greatly missed
by all his family and friends.
