So Sorry April for your loss. Joann and I worked at Banneker School for many years. After she retired we still remain in contact. You and the children were the center of her heart. I am praying for you and the family in your hours of bereavement.

Joann, I can’t even make sense of you not being here. For the past 20+ years, you have been at every event, activity and holiday – always smiling, teasing and laughing. I can’t thank you enough for loving me like your “other daughter” and welcoming me into your family. Thank you for always taking a nonjudgmental, loving perspective when we said crazy things. Thank you for loving my family as much as you loved your own. Thank you for cultivating relationships with my parents, my husband and my kids. You being you is something that has impacted our lives. I wish I would have told you how well you raised your daughter – that all the trauma, tragedy, laughter and love has made her an incredible, outstanding person. I wish I would have told you that your own health and wellness journey inspires me every day. And I wish I would have told you that the relationships you cultivated with your grandchildren was the best, most beautiful gift you could have given them. I love you and will miss you. Joann I’m really going to miss our phone calls and our outings. I keep wanting to pick up the phone and call you. I also want us to plan our next outing with Sherilyn and Lois.
