Chavez, Jesse a 49 year resident of Carson passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2004 in Los Angeles. Born in Los Angeles, California, Jesse was 49. He is survived by his wife, Iris Chavez of Carson; daughter, Yvette Chavez of Hawthorne; grandson, Martin Andrew Garcia; father, Jesus Ruiz Chavez; sisters, Linda Chavez, Teresa Chavez and Roberta Chavez-Crandall; 7 nephews and 4 nieces; and his Homeboys from Tortilla Flats. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 23 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Rice Mortuary, 5310 Torrance Blvd. in Torrance with Evening Services beginning at 7:00 P.M. in the Mortuary Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 24 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 11854 Acacia Avenue, Hawthorne. Burial will follow with procession to Resurrection Cemetery in So. San Gabriel.
