Jerome Ebenkamp On Tuesday December 17, 2019, Jerome (Jerry) Ebenkamp, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away in Henderson, NV at the age of 85. Jerry was born on July 2, 1934 in Cunningham, Kansas to Edward and Madeline (Jarmer). He graduated from Compton High School in 1952, and married Leanore (Lee) Layton in 1956. Jerry received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Southern California in 1961 and practiced Pharmacy for more than 40 years, first at Guild Drug and then as the owner/pharmacist of Spring Park Pharmacy Long Beach. He moved to Torrance in 1963 with his wife and three children. In 1994 he semi retired and moved to Steamboat Springs Colorado, to spend more time skiing and enjoying the mountains. In 2006 they began spending most of their time in Henderson, Nevada. Jerry had a passion for photography and he loved adventure. . Some of the things he enjoyed doing included skiing, golfing, camping, sailing, windsurfing and especially spending time with family and friends. He never left home without a camera or two and loved taking pictures of his family, places he traveled to, and complete strangers Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Patricia, and his daughter Susan Hodges. He is survived by his wife Lee of 63 years, his daughter Karen Kromer (Paul), his son Brian (Iliana), his brother Theodore (Lynn), eight grandchildren Alison and Jackson Hodges, Hannah Hodges (Ivarra), Kevin, Dennis, and Jessica Kromer, Michael and Annora Ebenkamp, one great grandchild, Julius Hodges. A memorial service and reception will be held in his honor at Lighthouse Memorial and Receptions center 901 Torrance Blvd, Redondo Beach CA, at 1:00pm on Friday January 10, 2020.
