jeffreymccandless
Our beloved son, Jeffrey Robert McCandless, went home to be with his Lord on September 25th, 2013. For the last 13 months, Jeff bravely battled cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). Even through his illness, Jeff never lost his loving spirit and positive attitude, to the amazement of those around him. Jeffrey is survived by his loving parents, Bob and Nancy, sister Kariann, brother-in-law Jeremy, brother Kevin, and was the proud uncle of David, Kaylin and Madelyn, grandmother Barbara McCandless and many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly. Jeffrey had a very special bond with his grandma and grandpa Webster who he now joins in heaven. Jeffrey was also very close to his Minnesota relatives. He always said, "Our family is top seeded". Jeffrey graduated from West High School in Torrance and attended El Camino College. For the past 12 years Jeff was blessed to work for Mattel. He loved his job and all his wonderful Mattel family. Jeffrey was a member of Hope Chapel Hermosa and Freedom Church South Bay. He was very active in Special Olympics and Friends of Torrance Exceptional Athletes. He loved his Saturday morning bowling, bocce, soccer, basketball and all his "Special O" friends. Jeffrey was such a blessing to our family and he will be deeply missed. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Hope Chapel Hermosa on Friday, October 4th 2013, viewing at 10:00A.M. followed by the service at 11:00A.M. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes. Donations may be made in Jeffrey's name to Friends of Torrance Exceptional Athletes or Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation or Hope Chapel Special Ministries.
