Janet
Janet Lorraine (Evans) Hildreth, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, died suddenly, unexpectedly, and inexplicably on November 25 at her home in Torrance. Janet was born March 20th 1938 in Lynn MA, she is 69. Janet is the only child to Carl and Esther (White) Evans of Saugus MA. She attended Saugus High School and UNH before marrying and moving to Torrance CA to raise her family. Her family was priority #1 and Janet was the foundation, the rock that the family was built on. Janet is a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother, a very loyal friend, and a dedicated life-long caretaker to God's birds and the beasts. There was no sick or injured animal that she would not take in and care for. Janet fought her own medical health battles and is a 10-year cancer survivor. Janet is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Robert Wendell Hildreth; daughter Holly Sharon Hildreth; son Jeffrey Scott Hildreth; daughter Kerry Kristin Geron; son-in-law Kevin Lewis Geron; much loved grandchildren Kami Kristin and Kurt Jeffrey; uncle Harold White; uncle Russell Ennis; aunt Francis Anderson; cousin Mrs. Nancy Rollins; cousins Daniel & Elliott White and families. Janet will be missed by so many she cared for, befriended, and touched. Our sense of loss is deep and widespread and will be everlasting. A Public Visitation will be held at White & Day Colonial Mortuary, 901 Torrance Blvd, Redondo Beach, CA, 90277, on Friday, November 30th, from 4:30 to 8:00 pm. Memorial Services will be held at Manhattan Beach Community Church, 303 S. Peck Rd., Manhattan Beach, CA, 90266, on Sunday, December 2nd, at 2:30 pm. A gathering of friends and family will follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an MBCC memorial fund in Janet's name (church address shown above).

  11. Dear Hilly, Jan would want to know that Holly, Jeff, Kerry, Kevin, Kami, and Kurt are all together with you celebrating her life, as she celebrated life by smelling the flowers each day. She did appreciate all the little things, and cared passionately about life in many forms, including all her animals over the years. I remember her delight with Kami’s arrival, and her new favorite role as grandma. You all share her love of words and the caring they can convey. She was so very special to me over the years. My sister said how well matched you two were…may that wonderful love help see you through this sad time. May we treasure the memories forever. It helps to see her in the faces of her family, and know love goes on. One very special friend who was always there… Love always, Marge and Ed
