February 21, 1913 - November 1, 2003. Married Mary Elizabeth Bailey on September 8, 1936. Survived by children: James Bailey Egan, Mary Deane Smith, John Francis Egan and Kevin Joseph Egan. Grandchildren (13): Shannon, Kathy, Sean, Jennifer, Jimmy, Stephanie, Jeannine, Brian, Eric, Jeff, Suzanne, Tim and Tammy. Great Grandchildren(16): Margaret, Sarah, Andrew, Michael, Anna, Jonathan, Rebecca, Zachary, Brandon, Kate, Bailey, Jamison, Aiden, Wendy, Megan, Jack, Desmond and Quinton. James was born in Newport, Rhode Island and came to the West Coast after marrying Mary. he served as a surveyor for the City of Long Beach for 30 years and prior to that he worked for the Long Beach Water Department. He was a square dancer caller for the Eagles Lodge and an avid golfer and bowler. He was in many leagues at the old ''Cal Bowl'' and in 1985 at the age of 72, he represented the State of California in the Seniors Bowling Tournament held in Las Vegas. He retired from bowling at the age of 85. After falling, his speech was difficult and easily misunderstood. However, after receiving the Sacrament of Healing the family heard him shout loud and clear ''LETS GO FIND GOD!!''
