James G. Walker was a 40 year resident of Redondo Beach, passed away on Monday January 8, 2007 in Redondo Beach. He was born in 1931 in Portsmouth; Iowa James was 75 when he died. James was a member of St. James Church. He was a Spanish teacher at Aviation High School for 23 years and at Redondo Union High School for 3 years. He received his Masters degree in Madrid, Spain while on a sabbatical from Aviation. James retired in 1986. He loved photography, working on his computer, traveling, doing the Times crossword puzzle and his families Genealogy. James was a patron of the Arts, going to the movies and reading. He is survived by his sister Carolyn Vasi (Callie) of Torrance, CA. Brother Reverend Gerald B. Walker of Laguna Woods, CA. and brother Lawrence Walker of Redondo Beach, CA. He is an Uncle and Great Uncle to many nieces and nephews. The Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Cross (Risen Christ Chapel) on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 11:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Holly Cross Cemetery in Culver City.

  1. Uncle Jim will be missed very much. He influenced many people in his lifetime. He was a great man, brother, uncle and teacher. I hope when I become a teacher I can be half as good as he was.

  2. Jim, as well as being one of my smartest and coolest relatives, inspired me to learn Spanish, which has served me well in my life. I will remember him fondly and miss him much.
