Schlothan, James Gustav Jr. a 47 year resident of the South Bay passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2004 in Torrance. Born in Ketchikan, Alaska, May 27, 1922, James was 81. He had served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the Hawthorne American Legion and the VFW. James had worked for Beneficial Life Insurance for over 32 years. He is survived by his sons Daniel (Betty) Schlothan of La Habra Heights and Kenneth (Gwyn) Schlothan of Anaheim; daughter Ann (Rustin) Ueno of Maryland; brother William (Delores) Schlothan of Seattle, WA; along with 9 grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 24 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at White and Day Colonial Mortuary, 901 Torrance Blvd. in Redondo Beach. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 10:00 A.M. in the Mortuary Chapel. Cremation will be private
