Oh Mary Ann I am so sorry for your loss and sorry for your daughter’s loss of their dear father What a wonderful man Jim was and I will never forgive him. Kind, interesting, funny, good, effective, smart, They’ll never be another one like him. If there is anything I can do please tell me . I’ve been through this dark wilderness with my husband and with my sister who had the same disease as Jim did. Peace and love.
How sorry I am to hear of Jim’s death. I have so many really great memories of him. They make me smile. I know that he lived his life with integrity, advocacy, and strength. The entire Essman family is in my thoughts!
Jim was a great organizer and a great person! Sorry for your loss Mickey! Fond memories including one day Jim came into my office and asked if I wanted to get a hotdog for lunch. We did at Angel Stadium. RIP Jim
Oh Mikki and girls, John just told me about Jim’s passing. I’m so sorry. Back in the day, Jim, John, my brother Gary and I were like brothers and sisters even though we were 1st cousins. Please accept my condolences.
I had the honor of working with Jim early in my career at California Teachers Association. He was not only a great organizer and supporter of public education, he was the best teacher and mentor any CTA employee could ever wish for. I’m sure that his generosity, great intellect, and passion to do good for humanity was well known and experienced by his family. To you, I express my most sincere condolences. We’ve all lost a great one.
