Memories Timeline

  1. Very sad. I few with Jim many times in the Guard. He was great to be with both in the air & on the ground. He is greatly missed.

  2. To the Shoemaker Family I just heard of Jim’s passing and am at a loss for words. We flew together for years at the Guard until I left in late 1985 for Washington DC. Jim was a superb officer and pilot and it was always a pleasure to take a trip or even fly a local with him. We talked several times over the years and it was like we’d never skipped a beat. Guard guys are friends for life. My condolences to all of you. He was way to to young to fly his last sortie. I will miss him, but never forget him.

  3. I was so sad to hear that the “Shoe” had passed. He was a great guy to work and party with over the years. He loved life, his family, and his Guard family, and we loved him back. We were blessed to know him.

  4. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jim, and you, his family. We miss him and hold the good times we had flying together with the 115th Airlift Wing/146th Airlift Squadron Wing.

  5. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. He was a wonderful man. My heart breaks for all of you. Much Love, Ellen and Gary Bruner

  6. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Shoemaker family. May the care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace for the days ahead.

  7. Paula, we are so sorry for you and your families loss. We have you in our thoughts and prayers.
