  1. Sorry for your families loss. Although I only knew Jacqueline for a short period of time I enjoyed sitting and talking with her and helping her organize her files and bills. She was a very nice person.

  5. Mother Hattie Riley and the entire Tyus Family;

I want to convey my deepest sympathy on the passing of your sister. I am sure she was a lovely lady and will be fondly remembered.

Times like this truly test our faith. Just when things seem so disappointing is when we have to remember that God will not let us suffer any more than we can bear. By calling on our faith and putting our trust in God, we will find the peace and comfort that we are seeking to ease our pain.

Keep her beautiful memory alive. Give thanks for having had her in your life all these years.

May God Bless and comfort you and your family,

    Faithfully Yours,

    Janice L. Roberts,
    Pine Bluff, Arkansas

  6. To The Family of Jacqueline Iola Tyus
    Rosalind Tyus-Simon
    Cissy Tyus
    Stanley Armstrong
    Robin Adams-Hicks

To my nieces and nephew, I, Hattie Riley, and the Riley Family, extend our heartfelt sympathy, and our warmest thoughts and prayers for the loss of your mother and my sister Iola.
I am tremendously saddened I can’t be there for support and comfort to you all during this time, but know that the Divine Comforter is able to sustain, encourage, and strengthen all who call upon Him. I hope that the love of our family will help to see you through. It has never been said that this part of life would be easy. It is not easy for me, and certainly not easy for you. However, God feels our pain and He understands our sorrow
I will always have fond memories of my sister in my heart and all of you should reflect on the spirit-filled and joyful times you shared with your mother. Iola and I are separated by 6 years. Thelma, Iola, and I were all born in Louisiana and came to Roher Arkansas when I was about 8 years old. I wish I had more stories to tell, however the passage of time is the enemy of the “details of memories”, so I’ve forgotten many stories. That said, a memory that sticks out in my mind is that Iola was more like a daughter to me than a sister. From our early days in Arkansas, I was “2nd momma”. That, I’ll never forget. Now a few words on remembrance:
You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back, or you can open your eyes and see she has left. Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her, or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she’s gone, or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what she’d want, smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Don’t forget we are just a phone call away and we love you dearly.

    Because We Care,
    Hattie Riley and Family

    bears all things,
    believes all things,
    hopes all things,
    endures all things.
    Love never ends.
