JACK FREEMAN LARKINS 93 years old and born October 10, 1921, Jack Freeman Larkins' strong spirit passed peacefully to God at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at home with his loving friend of 15 years, Lucy Salke. Jack leaves behind a beautiful family of a daughter Jacqueline Cullen from his wife Artelle of 54 years who preceded him in death in 1998, and Jacqueline's husband Michael, two grandsons, Michael Vincent Cullen, his son Michael Cyr Cullen II and Robert Arthur Cullen, his wife Jennifer, and their sons Chad, Erik and Jack and daughter Michelle. Additionally, he leaves 16 nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. Larkins and Bertie Mae (Poe). Jack also leaves behind 7 brothers and sisters. Jack served our US. Military during World War II, in the Army Air Corp as a Radio operator from 1944 to 1946. He had a successful business as a Carpenter and Concrete Contractor, the business being established after the war. He spent over 50 years helping his friends and family with their building projects and really enjoyed being able to contribute to their needs and always with a whistle and a song. In his free time he loved holding his grand-children taking them fishing and teaching them golf. In his later years he loved visiting the casinos and traveling. Also in these years he loved to fix anything for anyone. A Celebration of Life will be held…… St. James Catholic Church, 415 Vincent Street, Redondo Beach, CA 90277 at 10:00 a.m. Thursday January 15, 2015: Reception 11:00 a.m-1:00 p.m. at the Church hall. Burial at Green Hills Memorial Park at 1:30 p.m. 27501 S. Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes. In lieu of flowers, please send your donations to "The House of Yahweh", located at 4046 Marine Ave, Lawndale CA 90260.
