Jones, Ivan Roy, a 15 year resident of Manhattan Beach, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2007 in Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance. Born in Paso Robles, CA, Ivan was 67 when he died. Ivan was a member of Journey of Faith and served the Boy Scouts for over 35 years as a volunteer teaching Leaders and leading Scouts. Career notes: A Cal Poly San Luis Obispo graduate in engineering, Ivan worked full time at Hughes Aircraft and earned two additional Masters degrees at University of Southern California by attending at night. He was employed by Hughes Aircraft 35 years then Boeing and, in the last 10 years, as a consultant engineer. Personal interests politics, supported all forms of Christian missionary work throughout the world, development of computer analysis of satellite systems, Civic activities Boy Scouts of America as a volunteer on many levels - most recently served on its Council developing seminars to train the teachers in outdoor skills.and lead scuting activities. Passions USC football Fan of Pete Caroll and entire USC football staff Relationships He is survived by his loving Wife, Roseleen Gaffney-Jones of Manhattan Beach, CA, Son, Edward Jones of AZ, Granddaughter, Sarah Jones of AZ.and Sister Flora McCormick, TN Preceded in death by Father, Faye Jones and Mother, Pauline Jones and brother Ron Jones. A gathering of family & friends will be held at White & Day Manhattan Beach Chapel on Thursday, December 20, 2007 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The Service will be held at Journey of Faith Church in Manhattan Beach on Friday, December 21, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. A graveside service will be held at Templeton Cemetery in Templeton, CA on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 10:00 A.M.

  1. Roseleen, We remember Ivan as a kind and gentle man who was always ready to serve and assist when needed and always with that sweet gentle smile of his. Those are our memories of him while attending Pacific Christian Center several years ago. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. God bless you, John & Evie Baily

  2. I’m very sorry to hear about Mr. Jones passing. Back when I was about 12, I was a member of Troop 783, and Mr. Jones led most of our hikes in the San Bernardino Mountains and elsewhere. He was always genuinely kind and patient with us, unruly as we were. I didn’t appreciate it until later. I won’t forget him.
