Ingeborg Poltash (76) It is with great sadness, love and respect that we announce the passing of Ingeborg Poltash, a 54 year resident of Hawthorne. Inge passed away at 1:17 AM on Tuesday May 15 peacefully at home after a month long illness. She was born in Germany on January 8, 1931. During post WWII occupation of Germany she met Sgt. Joseph Poltash of Plains, PA and wed on April 25, 1952. After his discharge from the US Army, Mr. and Mrs. Poltash settled in Hawthorne in May 1953. Primarily a Homemaker, Inge held various positions in retail and restaurants. While raising her 2 sons, Inge was very active in school and sports functions on their behalf. She also made regular trips back to Germany to visit family and friends. Inge is survived by her Husband Joseph Poltash and sons Wolfgang (Redondo Beach), Roland (Chicago, IL) and sister Liesel Hedrich (Schongau, Germany). Viewing will be held 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 17 at McCormick Mortuary in Hawthorne. Memorial service will be private.
