It is with great sorrow that the family of Howard Marcus Edwards announces his passing into God's hands on February 19, 2008. Howard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He lives on in the hearts of his wife Sandra Edwards, two sons Howard Mitchell and Gilbert, two grand- daughters Deanna and Mia, and a great many family and friends. Howard was born in Fallon Nevada on June 18, 1946. It was in Fallon that Howard spent most of his formative years as a cowboy on his family's cattle ranch. Howard left Fallon at the age of 19 to join the United States Marine Corps and served two tours of duty in Viet Nam after which he was honorably discharged. Later Howard would move to California where he would raise a successful family and a lucrative business. Howard was the founder and owner of "Phoenix Saw and Tool"; formerly "Edwards Saw and Tool". Howard had a great many interests that included boating, NASCAR, and charity service as an Elk. Howard had a great love for life that is remembered by all who knew him. Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote, " It is not length of life, but depth of life"; truly Howard lived fully and deeply. He will be missed greatly. Service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 4PM at Rice Chapel, Torrance, CA with reception immediately following.
