McCartney, Hilda M. a 56 year South Bay resident passed away on Monday, January 15, 2001 in Torrance. Born in East Liverpool, Ohio, Hilda was 89. Hilda had been a pottery decorator for over 50 years and had worked at Metlox Pottery. She is survived by her daughter Carole (Dominick) Savoia of Torrance; grandson Michael (Anita) Savoia of Lawndale and granddaughter Caran Larsen of Las Vegas; along with six great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held Monday, January 22, at 1:00 PM at Rice Mortuary, 5310 Torrance Blvd. in Torrance.
Dear Carole and family, I want to wish you my deepest sympathy for your loss. Hilda a lot of times, would make me laugh and she would always notice days when I wasn\’t feeling to well because there were days when I couldn\’t get out of bed and she took the time to tell me, when she did see me in the hall that she was glad to see me up and around. And she always had a smile for me. It will be stange now, not to see her smile. Carole I am the young lady thats right across the hall thats on the crutches. I am sorry I won\’t be able to make the service because of my sickness, but you all will be in my prayers. And I pray for God\’s peace for you at this time of your life. God bless you.
