Meier, Henry Lake, (Hank), a 36 year resident of the South Bay passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2006. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Henry was 68 when he died. Henry graduated from St. Louis Country Day School 50 years ago. He graduated from Yale (1960) and served in the Navy aboard the USS Conflict. In June 1963 he married Bobbie-Jeanne Fisher. They had two children, Kristen Candle and Henry Lake Meier III. He was a Contract Administrator with Ampex when he retired. Henry was an avid golfer and cyclist and a member of the South Bay Wheelmen. He also played tennis and was a runner. His first wife Bobbie-Jeanne passed away in 1985. He remarried Allessandria Meier of Redondo Beach on Valentine's Day, 1987. He is also survived by his two children, Kristen and Hank, three stepsons, Jeffrey, Gregory, and Bradley Chiodo, and 12 grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at Rice Mortuary on Sunday, May 7 at 2pm, followed by a gathering in the Lighthouse Reception Room.

  1. I have many happy and warm memories of Hank when we rode on the group rides. He was a fantastic rider and person who had many interesting stories. We will all miss him dearly but will always remember him.
