A time to be born. Henry Lee Emerson was born in Dallas Texas on September 6, 1937 to Charlie and Mae Ella Thompson. Henry accepted Christ at an early age. In 1956 Henry enlisted in the US Marine Corp. where he served for 3 years. He resided in Dallas until 1965 when he and his family moved to Los Angeles, CA. Those of you who knew Henry knew that he had an outgoing personality and always made you laugh. Usually starting a conversation with his famous “You might not like what Im about to say.” Because we all know if nothing else. Henry was always an honest and forward man. While at home resting on June 9, 2006 at 12:25pm the lord saw fit to call Henry home to his heavenly mansion. Henry leaves behind to cherish his memories, one daughter Gale Renee Emerson- Gilliam and two sons Henry Lee Emerson Jr. of Los Angeles, CA and Kenneth Dwayne Emerson of Long Beach, CA, and four grandchildren Robbie Gilliam II, Davion Smith, Terrel Emerson, and Jerrel Wade, 7 stepchildren, of Los Angeles, CA. Two sisters Minnie Page of Dallas, TX and Pearly King of Los Angeles, CA, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends

  1. Gale, the video is beautiful. I have had the pleasure of working with Mr.Emerson as his nurse. I have wonderful memories of his good days and not so good days. His bark being bigger than his bite would explain him in a nut shell. I thank the Emerson family for opening their doors to me and I pray that Mr. Emerson is at Peace with the Father. May God continue to bless his family and loved ones and give much comfort as they continue in this mortal world. Sincerely, JoAndra Cornelius-Johnson, LVN Milestone Hospice
