Helen McLennan Ince, a resident of Redondo Beach for more than 80 years, died at her home Friday, December 1 after a valiant fight against her health problems. She was 85. Earning her pilots license at 18, she remained interested in aviation and pursued a variety of interests with passion and energy including painting, sewing, genealogy and writing while volunteering at her beloved Church and South Bay Hospital. She was the heart and soul of her family and will be sorely missed. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Collier of Redondo Beach, CA; son, Dan (Momi) Ince of Lynwood, CA; son, John (Raquel Ortiz) Ince of Torrance, CA; son, Michael (Jane) Ince of Manhattan Beach, CA; son, Mark (DeAnn) Ince of Torrance, CA; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Ince; father, Amos McLennan; and mother, Mary McLennan. The Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Redondo Beach on Saturday December 9, 2006 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Youth Ministries at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Daughters of the American Revolution or the Redondo Beach Police and Paramedic Programs.
