Helen Frances Donohoe October. 3, 1916 - April 27, 2011 Helen, a long time resident of Torrance, passed away peacefully in Harbor City on April, 27, 2011 of natural causes. Helen was born in Braddock, PA. She moved with her parents to Los Angeles in 1928 and ultimately settled in Torrance, where she lived for over 50 years. She attended Fremont High School in Los Angeles and later was married and had two daughters. She worked for the Boeing Company in Long Beach and retired after more than 25 years of service. Helen was an avid ballroom dancer, where she excelled and won many trophies, dancing well into her 80s. She also was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in Torrance. She is preceded in death by her former husband, Philip Donohoe and her daughter, Marianne Sinn. She is survived by her daughter, Fran Pitts (Robert) of Palos Verdes Peninsula; grandchildren, Brian and Laura Pitts and Christina Sinn Brown (Eric) of La Jolla, CA; and great grandchildren, Garrett, Evan and Ella Brown. Services will be private. Helen volunteered at a nonprofit organization that has helped many charities in the South Bay. In lieu of flowers, you can donate in Helen's name to The Palos Verdes Resale Thrift Shop, 2321 Pacific Coast Highway, Lomita, CA 90717.
