Harvey W. ''Blue'' Berryhill, 82 of Torrance, California, passed away on July 18, 2003. Blue was born in Coalinga, California on October 28, 1920 and went to public school in Taft, California through high school. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and shortly after his graduation from Woodbury College in Los Angeles, he joined Mobil Oil Corporation where he was employed as an accountant for over 30 years until his retirement in 1982. Blue was devoted to his family, friends and faith. He was a loving and caring parent who was actively involved in his family's activities throughout his life. Blue served as Little League coach during his children's youth and was active in all their school and athletic endeavers. He was an avid golfer for many years in which he scored a 75 at 65 years of age.He loved traveling with friends and he spent his retirement years in great enjoyment visiting many worldwide sites in Europe, Asia, and Central America, as well as the U.S. He was preceded in death by his wife Ida Mae Berryhill in 1986. He is survived by sons Dennis G. Berryhill and wife Michelle of Houston. Daughter-in-Law Sammye Berryhill of Houston. John R. Berryhill and wife Janet of Torrance. He was tremendously proud of his grandchildren Jennifer Fishman of Dallas, Texas; Bonnie Berryhill of Torrance. Jason and Amy Berryhill of Houston. He will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren and many other family members, church associates and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, August 2, 2003 at Baycities Community Church 400 S. Broadway Redondo Beach, CA 90277.
I had the \’honor\’ of working with Blue for several years and he brought so much pleasure/laughter to the workplace. Blue lived his life to the fullest and his family was his No. 1 priority. He will be missed!!!!!
