Whitaker, Harry Stanley a 40 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2005 in Redondo Beach. Born in North Carolina on June 23, 1926, Harry was 78. Harry had served in the Marine Corps during World War II and he was a member of Hope Chapel in Hermosa Beach. Harry is survived by wife, Beverley Whitaker of Redondo Beach; sons, Kim (Barbara) Whitaker of Tehachapi, Kevin (Kimberly) Whitaker of Wasco and grandson, Jack Ryan Whitaker of Wasco; stepchildren, Terri Patterson of Boise, ID, John (Lori) Patterson of Simi Valley and Denise (Bob) Patterson of El Segundo; nieces, Kathy (Ken) Davis, Bonnie Self, Merrie Whitaker all of Reno, NV and Judy Thompson of Rhode Island. He was preceded in death by brother Conrad and sisters, Ynez and Iris. A Memorial service will be held at Hope Chapel in Hermosa Beach, Thursday January 20, 2005 at 2:00PM. Burial at Riverside National Cemetery will be private. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, in memory of Harry S. Whitaker.
