Harold Arnold Larson 1923-2015 Harold Arnold Larson passed away on August 15, 2015 at the age of 91. His friends and loved ones called him Butch. He was born on December 4, 1923 in Cloquet, Minnesota to Jalmer and Minnie Larson. He was a beloved husband of 65 years to Dona Mae Larson and a loving father to Randy A. Larson, deceased, and Dawn Marie Gamble. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Paul Peterson, daughter-in-law, Chrys A. Larson, and four grandchildren, Sara and Stacy Larson, and Michael and Michelle Gamble. Butch was a happy, loving, and good-natured man. He was a man of many talents, including artwork, woodcarving, carpentry, and gardening. He loved the outdoors and spent most of his life fishing, hunting, and camping. Butch loved traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He served in the US Navy on the USS Edmonds during WWII, Butch earned four service stars and three medals for the Asiatic Pacific Campaign, Philippine Liberation and the American Campaign. He then worked for the Wood Conversion Company in Minnesota. After getting married and having two children, Butch and Dona moved to Torrance, California, where they bought their home of 59 years. He worked 30 years for Northrop as an Engineering/ Aero Lab Manager and retired in 1990. His friends and family will fondly remember Butch and he will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org. Private services will be held.
