Gwendolyn Theresa DeBlanc of Rancho Palos Verdes, California (formerly of Port Arthur, Texas) died on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 in her home. Born on February 5, 1950 in Port Arthur, she was the daughter of Elouise Richard and Donald L. DeBlanc, Sr. Gwen was a 1967 graduate of Lincoln High School and received a B.S. degree from Lamar University. She worked as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines based in Chicago, Dallas, Houston and Los Angeles. International flights were her favorite, and she enjoyed traveling and exploring the customs of Japan, Australia, and Hawaii. Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, Elouise and Donald L. DeBlanc, Sr; brothers: Larry DeBlanc, Sr. and Timmy DeBlanc; and nephew, Larry DeBlanc, Jr. Gwen is survived by her brother, Donald L. DeBlanc, Jr. (Dolores) of Beaumont; nephews: David DeBlanc of Beaumont, and Darrell DeBlanc of Humble; three great-nephews: Christopher, Sidney and Spencer DeBlanc; sister-in law: Tracy DeBlanc; nieces: Jasmine and Arie DeBlanc; and many extended family members and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Hannah Funeral Home Chapel, 3727 Lewis Drive in Port Arthur, Texas 77642.

  1. Gwen was a wonderful, classy, fun Lady, so very full of life. I can still remember her hosting a debriefing party after landing in Sydney and ordering boldly: “Champagne for everyone … !!!” Such a sweet person. I hadn’t flown with her for some time. She will be truly missed.
