Guillermo (Bill) Santos C De Baca passed away in his sleep on October 5, 2017. He was born November 1, 1932 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the first of 5 siblings. Bill briefly attended seminary school in Louisiana and returned to Santa Fe, where he met his future wife, Teresa (Duran) C De Baca. He graduated from St. Michael’s High School and joined the Air Force. His 4-year career as an airplane mechanic in the Air Force included tours in Wichita Falls and Bermuda. Bill married Tessie, the love of his life, in 1952. They moved to Southern California where he began his 37-year career as an airplane mechanic with American Airlines. Bill and Tessie moved back to Santa Fe, New Mexico, then to Tucson, Arizona, finally settling in Booneville, Arkansas. He enjoyed traveling with his love to visit family and to attend air and car shows. Shortly after moving into their dream home, Bill lost his beloved wife to cancer. He returned to Southern California after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Dementia. He is survived by 4 siblings, Orlando, Ernesto, Cecilia (C De Baca) Giles, and Jose. Bill will be missed by his 5 children Albert (Laura), Deloisa (Douglas), Robbie, Brian, and Kenny; 11 grandchildren Dominic (Heather), Sonrisa Wood, Nicole (Brett), Eric Wood, Courtney, Lacey, Robert, Bree Latson, Victoria, Alexandria, and Nicholas; 7 great-grandchildren Izzy, Ava Martinez, Jackson, Gabriela, Ali Schuh, Atticus Gillespie, and Brooklyn Clark. Funeral Mass is at 10 a.m. October 21, 2017 with Rosary preceding at 9:45 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Redondo Beach, California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, Alzheimer’s Association or BvB Dallas on behalf of Guillermo C De Baca.
