Obituary of Gloria M. Lachica

June 25, 1945 – March 19, 2021

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Gloria M. Lachica, who passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021 at the age of 74 at her home.  She was born in Batangas, Philippines to Estanislao and Francesca Magnaye.  She was 5th of 13 children.  She married Rolando L. Lachica, Sr. in 1965 in Cubao, Quezon City.  They immigrated to United States and settled in Lawndale, CA to raise a family.  Her husband of over 50 years preceded her in death in November 2018.  She is survived by her children:  Ronaldo, Roselyn, Rolando, Rodendo, Rodelyn, and Ronelyn (John Dyess).  She is the cherished grandmother of John Christopher; a much beloved sister of Estanislao Magnaye Sr. (Lourdes Mariano Magnaye), Bienvenido Magnaye (Remy Dimaculangan Magnaye), Esmeraldo Magnaye (Leonida Caponpon Magnaye), Rosalinda Magnaye Tom (Benjamin Tom), Jesus Magnaye (Julita Angeles Magnaye) and Teresita Magnaye Yadao (Naribu Yadao); and is survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved like her own children.  We will sorely miss her love, generous spirit, warm smile, sweet disposition, and happy-go-lucky attitude.

She spent many years working in various companies, but finished her career as a Billing Analyst for Bollore Logistics in Torrance, CA.  She mentioned numerous times that she loved working for the company and made numerous great friends that she continued to keep in touch with after retirement.

She enjoyed spending time with her Family, traveling and going to casinos.  Gloria loved playing the slot machines.  She was a big believer of Feng Shui and wore numerous good luck charms to enhance and attract luck especially when playing slots.  We wish her much luck playing slot machines in heaven’s casino.
