Gerhard
Gerhard (Gary) Richard Wruck Born December 14, 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Went to Heaven on March 5, 2006. We will love and miss him, and meet him again in our Heavenly home. Gary met Madeline while working at Douglas Aircraft Co. in Santa Monica California in 1956. They were married within a year. They lived their entire married life in the home Gary purchased as a bachelor in Manhattan Beach. His life was filled with love for Jesus Christ and his family, and his friends and neighbors. He loved time spent with his family at home gatherings which were regular monthly events. His favorite vacation spot was Hume Lake where he rented cabins for his whole family. He loved nature, fishing, basketball and football. He love telling the story of how he played Basket Ball in his teens and was the captain of the team. They competed with the High School teams, and his team won 48 of the 50 games played. In his later years, he was an avid crossword puzzle worker. He created his won exhaustive crossword dictionary. He loved his beloved City of Manhattan Beach and daily marveled at the beauty of the birds, the trees and the squirrels. The night of his death as the family gathered in the back yard around the familiar fire pit, to celebrate his life, the fire department showed up with sirens blaring as smoke filled the back yard due to using wet wood. They were friendly and expressed to our family the sadness of our loss. Gary sent us his last laugh. Thank you Jesus for the man that changed all of us! He is survived by his wife Madeline of 49 years, daughter Doreen Virginia Wruck of Redondo Beach, daughter Bernice (Neicee) Ann Lawrence of Torrance, son Kenneth Frank Wruck of Redondo Beach, grandson Christopher Kenneth Wruck 17 of Streamwood IL, grandson Christian Lawrence 12 of Torrance, granddaughter Brittany Ann Wruck 12 of Redondo Beach, son-in-law Jerald Kent Lawrence of Torrance, sister-in-law Donna Chase of Gardena, brother-in-law John Chase of Gardena, niece Lori Stewart and her son Sean and daughter Alyson of Camas WA, niece Kristi Longenbahn and her sons Lance Jr. and Ryan and daughter Piper all of Westminster, CO, cousin Ruth Milligan and her daughters Cathy, Mary, Jean and Linda from Citrus Heights, CA.
