Bright, Gerald Leon, a 57 year resident of Lennox, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2009 in his home in Lennox. Born in Sweetwater, TX, Gerald was 80 when he died. Gerald had served in the Marine Corps during 1947 and in the National Gurard 1948 through 1956. Gerald was a member of Breakwater Foursquare Church. Career notes: Gerald graduated in 1947 from Pecos Texas High School, He was a machinist for 50 years moving up through the ranks to an inspector of all machined parts. Personal interests: He enjoyed spending his days at the Lennox Senior Citizen Center socializing with friends and neighbors, and doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Hobbies: Sports, fishing, gardening, going to Las Vegas, baking bread, and he loved to read. Civic activities: Gerald was a member of the American Legion, Shriner's, and the American Veteran's Association. Passions: He was a an avid fan of football, basketball, baseball, and golf. Gerald loved helping others and did so continually. Relationships: Gerald was a devoted and loving husband of his wife, Myrtle, for over 50 years. He is survived by daughter, Shelly Jensen of Gettysburg, South Dakota, son, Gerald Bright of Manhattan, KS, daughter, Mary Bright of Las Crusas, New Mexico, and Daughter, Terri Shieldsof Topeka, Kansas. He also had 12 Grandchildren, & 23 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, two brothers, and the wife that he adored.. A viewing will be held at McCormick Inglewood Chapel on Friday, May 15, 2009 from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. The memorial service will be at the McCormick Inglewood Chapel on Saturday May 16, 2009 at 3:00 P.M.
