Gerald Edwin Harris, III Born at Fort Sheridan, IL on November 29, 1947. Departed on August 19, 2011 at his home in Torrance, CA. Memorial Service: Saturday, August 27, 2011 Gerald passed away in his sleep on August 19, 2011. Gerald was the oldest of four children. He was born on November 29, 1947 to Gerald Edwin Harris, Jr. and Nathalie Taimi Juntunen at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. He graduated from Los Angeles High School in 1965, and from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in Mathematics in 1973. He worked as a delivery driver for many years. His final occupation was as a Census Worker for the 2010 U.S. Census. Gerald was a reclusive person for most of his life. However, over the last several years he was an active member of the South Bay Church of God in Torrance, CA. He enjoyed singing in the choir and serving when called. Gerald was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by sister Mia Gerard, sister Pepa LaRose and her husband Ricky LaRose, and his brother Kivi Harris and his wife Vivian Lew, and nephews Kylan Gerard, Ty White and Jonah Harris, nieces Kara Finuf, Cima Mizrachi and Jaakkina Harris, and many aunts, uncles and cousins and their families. Our family wishes to express our extreme gratitude to the members of South Bay Church of God for making the final years of our beloved Gerald joyous and happy. A memorial will be held on August 27, 2011 at 2:00 PM at South Bay Church of God in Torrance; a celebration of his life will follow his services.
