December 4, 1919 ~ November 5, 2006
Sheets, Georgia (Millie), beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Nov. 5, 2006. She was born on Dec. 4, 1919 in Denton Co., Texas.
Georgia lived in the South Bay with her beloved husband, Lou, and their 2 daughters, Judy and Toni until the girls married and then the two wanderlusts traveled the U.S. extensively and continued their love of adventure and fishing. Georgia's true pioneer spirit continued after Lou's death in 1981. Her love of travel and learning about people and places took her to China and New Zealand among other places. Georgia was known for her warmth and kindness and her generous spirit and had a strong faith in God. Everyone she met commented on her beautiful blue eyes.
She and Lou lived in Palm Springs for several years before his passing. She returned to the South Bay to live the last 10 years. Among Georgia's interests were playing bridge, music, traveling, and spending time with family. She was an avid NASCAR racing fan. Most of all, Georgia loved and cherished family and she has left a legacy of everlasting love and affection. She had the courage to meet the challenges of life with dignity and was prepared to move on to join the "Love of her life", husband for over 40 years, Lou. Also preceded in death by daughter, Judy Ginder; sons, Rex and George Allen. She is survived by daughter Toni (David) Marsden; son-in-law Bill Ginder; granddaughters, Michelle (Kevin) Norman, Leslie (Scott) Davison; grandsons, Bill Ginder, Matt (Tammy) Ginder, and David G. Marsden Jr.; great grandchildren, Karlie Davison and Riley Norman.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, Nov. 13, 2006 at 9:00AM at Rice Mortuary, 5310 Torrance Blvd., Torrance. The service celebrating Georgia's life will follow at 10:00.
Internment will be held at Green Hills Cemetery, Rancho Palos Verdes.
