Francis
Francis (Frank) Parkes, born August 21, 1932 in Co. Down, Ireland passed away October 25, 2009 in Torrance, California. Frank was the third youngest of eight children. He is preceded in death by his mother and father William and Isabel Parkes and five of the eight children. He is survived by his brother Jack and sister May and his loving wife of 50 years Kathleen and their three children, Arlene, Derek and John and five grandchildren, Kathleen, Jimmy, Owen, Riley and Lindsay and a large family of Parkes in California and in Ireland. He was a General Contractor all his life and a highly gifted master carpenter. He had a passion from when he was a young boy in Ireland for racing homing pigeons and breeding and showing canaries. He built his own home in Rancho Palos Verdes where he raised his family and where they all have enjoyed many, many happy memories!! Private services were held with the Rev. Dr. Carl Johnson (officiant). 20 white homing pigeons were sent home by family members and grandchildren. Donations can be sent to the American Heart Association/American Cancer Society. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands laid to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best!!

Frank was a great craftsmen. I was only an apprentice when I meet Frank and Marvin back in the late 80s.He taught me alot back then and I am sad to hear he’s gone.
