Frances Ramona Pursley, a life-long resident of Lawndale and the South Bay, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 in San Pedro, CA. Born in Inglewood, CA, Frances was 67 when she died. Frances worked at Leuzinger High School for 20 years as the girls' locker room aide. Frances enjoyed playing bingo, reading, collecting antiques, and spending time with her family. Frances is survived by her husband of 46 years, Donald Pursley of Lawndale, CA; her mother, Lupe Mendez of Lawndale, CA; daughter, Lisa Acosta of Lawndale, CA; daughter, Denise Acosta of Lawndale, CA; son, Donald Pursley, Jr. of Santa Maria, CA; daughter, Yvette Hale of Corona, CA; siblings Richard, Rebecca, Sally and Frank Mendez; and eight grandchildren, Felicia, Frank, Albert, Johnny, Lauren, Katie, Donny and Francine. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance on Tuesday December 18, 2012 from 5 to 9pm. The Service will be held at Rice Mortuary on Wednesday December 19 at 10am. Burial will follow at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach.

Francis was a friend of our family. My mother and her met in the hospital when my sister was born and Deedee was born….I remember so much, all good memories. Thank you Yvette for letting me know.
