Covington, Frances L., a 64 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 in Torrance. She was born January 4, 1909 in Texas. Frances was a past member of Hawthorne Womans' club, a past Matron or the Order of Eastern Star, one of the founders of the Lawndale Womans' Republican Club and a long time member of the Hawthorne United Methodist Church. Frances retired as a teacher after serving over 20 years for the Hawthorne Elementary School District. She is survived by a son, Dallas (Cheryl) Covington, two grandchildren Daniel (Kamma) Covington and Paul (Bethany) Covington. Also survived by three great grandchildren, Scott, Michael and Cian Covington. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 4, 2006, at the White & Day Colonial Mortuary in Redondo Beach. Inurnment will be at Chapel of the Pines in Los Angeles. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the City of Hope.
