Frances Biby Dow

Frances Biby Dow, a long time Manhattan Beach resident, died peacefully at home Monday May 6, 2002. She had fought valiantly against a number of serious health problems these last months. She started coming to Manhattan Beach in 1916 when her grandfather built a small vacation house for the family. She always loved the beach and this town. She was very proud that she had been one of the founding members of the Manhattan Beach Historical Society. She loved her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Dow of Manhattan Beach, Niece's Marilyn Carpenter of Spokane, WA and Brenda Biby of Hungington Beach, CA , her Nephew's Jim Biby of Valencia, CA and Bob Biby of Downey, CA. She will be missed. Services will be held Friday May 10, 2002 at 10AM at White and Day Mortuary, 3215 Sepulveda Blvd. Manhattan Beach, with interment to follow at Green Hills Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, Contributions may be made to The Manhattan Beach Historical Society or a charity of your choice.
