Fr. Robert
Rev. Robert O. Luck, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. A native of New Jersey, Robert relocated to Southern California as a young man and served in the U.S. Marine Corp before entering St. John's Seminary. Ordained a priest in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles on April 30, 1962. Later in his Priesthood, Fr. Robert entered the U.S. Air Force and served as Chaplain. He retired as a lieutenant coronel after having served at bases around the world, including Germany, Greece, Saudi Arabia, Guam, the Johnson Atoll and many others. He served not only professionally but with distinction and bravery, several times putting his life at risk to serve others and secure their safety. He served at various communities in his Priesthood until he finally retired in order to care for his mother in Las Vegas Nevada. Upon her passing he moved to Palm Springs, Ca, where he remained until his final illness. He is survived by his two brothers, Thomas Luck of Massachusetts and James Luck of Calexico, Ca and their children , grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as his Aunts, Molly Lutz of Florida and Cornelia Lutz of Rialto, Ca. He was dearly loved by his family, his friends and parishioners and will be sorely missed. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 11am at St. Barnabas Church, Long Beach with committal in All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach.

  1. Father Bob, Bobby, you will be missed. You were a wonderful godfather, always there with a prayer, a smile and a hearty laugh
    which I can hear right now through my tears. I hope you meet up with the rest of the Luck/Lutz clan and continue to look down on the rest of us with love. May royal flushes be abundant.
