Floyd G. Putman, a 37 year resident of Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Torrance Ca., passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Born in Milwaukee, WI, Floyd was 58 when he died. Floyd graduated in 1973 from Severna Park High School, Severna Park, Md. Floyd was a supervisor, maintenance engineer during his working life. Most recently for the past 12 years, he was employed by his friend David Buxton at Tormed Medical Bldgs. in Torrance. Floyd always had a love for animals and was also a rescuer of animals. He was most happiest when at the beach, surfing, kite flying or just enjoying the beauty of it all. Floyd is survived by his 3 siblings:Betty Jo Aldrich, 5 children, Beth, Jenny, Sydney, Andrew, Mary Katherine& 3 grandchildren;James Putman Jr., 3 children, James III, Amanda, Lindsey and 4 grandchildren;Jackie Sampson, husband Chuck and 3 children, Ryan, Lauren, Samantha and 2 grandchildren.Floyd is survived by his best friend of 32 years, Alan White. Floyd was preceded in death by his wife of 27 yrs., Joey Putman and parents, James Sr. and Elizabeth Putman. A memorial service was held at Rice Mortuary on Saturday June 23, 2012. Burial was private.

Dear Floyd Such a great person I had the pleasure of meeting. I will never forget how you treated people with kindness especially me when we would talk. I will miss you and that voice of yours always saying “ok kiddo” always thanking me for my help in taking care of a request. Kelly, Oscar and I will always remember you and Joey ….
Floyd….I was so shocked to hear of your passing…you’re with Joey now….you loved her so very much. We shared many talks about our family lives in the mornings walking into work. Thank you for always taking care of us in the office whenever we called early in the mornings….you always gave to all the people in the medical buildings…running from one call to the next…true professional. I will always remember your smile and laughter, to cheer everyone…thank you. YOU will be missed…may you and Joey rest in peace together…..hugs..Lynda
Floyd i enjoyed are time working together the last 3 1/2 yrs we truely had some great times it was an honor to get to know you and I appreciate the wisdom you shared with me I know Joey meant everything to you and brownie they were truly your passion you will be missed by many Floyd
