Garcia, Florentina Lucero a 93 year resident of Lawndale, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2004 in Torrance. Born in Otai, San Diego, CA, Florentina was 93 when she died. Florentina is survived by Daughter, Rosa Benividez of San Antonio, TX, Son, Ray Garcia of Port Orange, FL, Daughter, Josephine Lopez of Lawndale, CA, Son, Benny Vigueras of Los Angeles, CA,. Reception and viewing will be Wednesday, December 29, 2004, 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the service Thursday, December 30, 2004, 10:00 AM at Rice Mortuary, Torrance, CA.
Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City.
I HAVE MANY FOND MEMORIES OF GRANDMA AND I WILL TRULY MISS HER AND HER BEAUTIFUL SMILE WHEN SHE GREETED YOU.
Nana was the strongest woman I have ever known who lived an amazing life. Her memory lives forever in all of those she has given life to. I love you very much, Nana. God Bless!
During my mid-twenties my Grandmother was my best friend, we hung out and went to church and pot lucks, she listened to me and gave me advice. She NEVER judged me, she ALWAYS loved me, no matter what, I have missed her for so long. However, she always said “to be absent of the body is to be present with the Lord.” She is at home and at peace with our Lord & my Mother. I will miss Grandma very much. She was a very big part of my life and will continue to be forever. I will never forget our Sunday dinners at my house… Grandma loved to be with the family and had so much fun just being around people. She was so sweet and always had a great smile on her beautiful face. I remember going in her room at Josie\’s and sneaking her candy – she always put it under her pillow till the coast was clear and then she would eat it. She loved her candy and sweets. She will always be in my heart and and be missed each and every day. I will miss you Grandma!!!! I love you Grandma…. Love, Vicki
