Smidt, Felix Richard Ludwig a 43 year resident of Hawthorne, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 in Torrance. Born in Batavia, Indonesia, Felix was 76 when he died. Felix was a member of Holy Comunion Esiscopal Church in Gardena, CA. He was an accountant for 43 years and last worked at American Plant Growers in Carson, CA where he was office manager. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and was devoted to his wife and daughter and very proud of his son in law, grandson and grandsons wife. He is survived by Daughter, Astrid and husband Steve Densmore of Hawthorne, CA, Grandson, Sean Densmore of Apple Valley, CA, Granddaughter, Frances Densmore and Son in law, Stephen Densmore. Preceded in death by Wife Albertine Smidt, Father, Eduard Smidt and Mother, Johanna Smidt. A gathering of family & friends will be held at White & Day Colonial Chapel on Friday, December 30, 2005 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The Service will be held at White & Day Colonial Chapel on Saturday, December 31, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. with a reception following from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Interment will be private at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.

  1. Jessica and Steve, I am so sorry to hear about your father. I read it in the paper yesterday. I know a thousand words cannot ease your pain. He was one of the nicest men I ever knew. I will always think of him standing out front on the driveway and waving at me as I drove by. Or the times I would stop and chat with him. Or all the times I would call him Mr. Schmidt and he would reply “Felix please”. I just grew up calling him that and could never get past it.
