  1. Bud and Ev taught me a lot about fishing, hunting, camping, and life when I lived across the street from them. After I moved away from Califonia, I used to visit often. They treated me as family, which Ev continued to do after Bud’s death. I will remember her often and miss her much.

  2. Our family lived across the street from Ev for over 30 years. Ev was truly an amazing woman who could do or fix anything. Long before there was Home Depot, if you ever needed a tool or to know how to fix something you went to see Aunt Ev. She could tell you exactly how to fix it and give you all the tools necessary.

  6. I am a volunteer with Southern California Labrador Retriever Rescue. Evelyn was 80 years young when she applied to adopt from our organization in May of 2001. She was a true angel for a lucky foster dog named Ellis, a 7 year old senior yellow Labrador Retriever with very bad arthritis in his hips. No one had shown any interest in adopting him. That is, until I told Evelyn about him; she wanted to meet the dog right away. I drove Evelyn up to where Ellis was being boarded; Evelyn saw the dog, started to cry and fell in love with him on the spot. She said she didn’t care that he had arthritis since she had it, too! We drove back to Evelyn’s house with Ellis that same afternoon. Evelyn renamed the dog “Sam,” and Sam lived 5 very happy years with her; he passed away in 2006. I had visited Evelyn just a couple of months ago, and her refrain was the same; “Andy, if you have an old yellow male dog that needs a home, just let me know.” I will miss Evelyn.

  7. To all Auntie Eve’s loved ones I am so sorry for your loss. I will miss Auntie Eve very much. We shared the same birthday. I remember helping her with her new computer years ago. She also had a smile for everyone. Auntie Eve always remembered me when she sent Stanley Christmas cards. I will never forget her. I know she is resting in peace with Uncle Bud. Respect and Affection, Helen

  8. Happy Trails to You Ev….I just found out about your passing today and have been reflecting on all my fond memories of you and the great discussions we use to have when I was a student nurse practitioner student living with you in 1995. You have truly been more than a mother to me! Thank you for all you shared with me these past 13 years…I can truly say I have never met anyone as amazing as you…Mrs. Fixit! I am so thankful I was able to see you this past Thanksgiving. We had some fun remembering our times together…you kept me laughing the entire trip! I will miss your wisdom, passion, faith, fire, bawdy jokes, and affection…Till we meet Again…LOVE Always…Paula
