Emy G. White, born August 31, 1916, long time resident of Torrance, passed at home Saturday, March 29, 2008. Emy retired as an Engineer in the Aerospace industry in 1989. During her career, her expertise was vital in the success of multiple interstellar missions including the Venus and Lunar Programs. She had a love for jewelry making, needlepoint and was an avid reader. Emy was one of eight children born in Booneville, Missouri and is survived by her sister Rosemary Evans, of Kansas City, MO.; three children, Deanna White and David White both of Las Vegas, NV, and Leo (Penny) White of Sun City, CA; along with eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, April 3th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at White and Day's Colonial Chapel, 901 Torrance Blvd. in Redondo Beach with services to follow in the Mortuary's Chapel at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow in White and Day's Lighthouse Reception Room.
