Ella Wease Davis, was born to the union of Arthur and Luticia White on June 7, 1923 in Raymond Mississippi. She accepted Christ at an early age. She met and married Marion Davis and relocated to California in 1941. Together, they loved and nurtured one son, Joe the love of their lives. Her husband of 49 years preceded her in death. She was an active member of Community Lutheran Church of Compton, Calif. Where she served in various capacities until her health failed. She was employed by McDonnell Douglas for 35 years until her retirement. She loved people and plants. Her love for people was magnified by the many lives she touched. Her love for plants is illustrated in her lawn and garden. She enjoyed travelling, especially taking cruises. Of all the enjoyments of her life, the most fulfilling was her relationship with Christ. She is survied by her son, Rev. Joe L. Chatman(Dorothy), of Jackson Ms. Grandchildren, Gayle Rucker(Frank of Detroit, Michigan, Chauncey Chatman, Beverly Chatman, Vickey Chatman, Christal Beck (Warren), all of California, Alex Chatman and Valarie White of Jackson, Mississippi, 9 great-grandchildren, two adopted children, Ruth Berry and Robert Lee. Special friends: Lee Evans, Charles Caffey, Eva Friar, Rosie Mabry, Isabelle White and Karen Campos and a host of Friends.
